A borough in western Bucks County, Chalfont is a beautiful rural area with scenic hills, valleys and sparse woodlands. Chalfont was founded as a small village in 1683, though it has gone through a number of name changes over the years. It eventually earned its current name in homage to the home of William Penn's first wife, Chalfont St. Giles. Though it has undergone many changes since its founding, Chalfont remains a quaint community bordering Doylestown, the county seat of Bucks County. The rural roads and parks within the community are an ideal place to exercise in the summer months. In 2015, an estimated 4,069 individuals lived in Chalfont, marking the highest population in the town's history. The median income for a household in the borough was $63,491 as of 2010.
