Healthy Snacks

thHealthy Snacks are important in your daily diet.   Don’t allow yourself to go 5-6 hours without eating.   Eating small meals every 3-4 hours will increase your metabolism.

This is optimal.  A stable metabolism will allow your body to burn fat at rest throughout the day and even when you  are sleeping!

Fact!  When you eat after 5,6  hours your blood sugar spikes, causing excess insulin in your blood.  When there is excess insulin in your blood your body stores fat more easily.   Drink more water.  If you’re not drinking half your body weight in oz.  you aren’t drinking enough.  I always say…. You should never be starving or ravenously thirsty.

5910Here is a list of healthy snacks you and your family can enjoy:

2 -3 stalks celery and 1 Tbsp. almond butter

12 baby carrots and 2 Tbsp. hummus

1/4 cup roasted almonds and 1 medium pear or apple

1/4 cup cottage cheese and 1 cup of raw vegetables

1/2 avocado

1 farm raised hard boiled egg

Kind Bar

1/8 pumpkin seeds and 12 grapes

1/4 cup salsa and 1 cup raw vegetables






1/2 apple with 1 Tbsp. almond butter and a drizzle of honey




Go to your supermarket today and stock up on healthy snacks for the week.  Your body will thank you!
