Physically active people have less body fat than sedentary people, even if they have the same BMI.  BMI = Body Mass Index.  Not sure what your BMI is? Check out the formula below to find out!

Calculate your BMI

Formula: weight (lb) / [height (in)]2 x 703

For example:  A woman , 5’2″ tall weighing 125 pounds.

Calculate: 125 divided by (62) squared (3844) = .0325  X 703 = 22.9.

Weight Status – Where do you rank in your BMI?

Below 18.5 Underweight
18.5 – 24.9 Normal or Healthy Weight
25.0 – 29.9 Overweight
30.0 and Above Obese

Benefits of Boot Camp

Physical activity without weight loss changes body composition:  body fat decreases while lean body mass increases.  High intermittent intense exercise such as Boot Camp workouts may be even more effective at reducing body fat than other types of exercise.  Engaging in an exercise program will help reduce stress which is especially helpful for people who respond to stress with inappropriate eating.  A regimented exercise program will help improve body image and separate the connections between body weight and self worth.  A physically active person begins to look and feel healthy and as a result, gains self esteem.  High self-esteem motivates a person to continue seeking good health and fitness which keeps the beneficial cycle going.

Doylestown Boot Camp has created a program that is designed specifically for women of all fitness levels and ages.  Whether you are sedentary and ready to jump into an exercise program or an avid athlete looking for a change, Doylestown Boot Camp will fulfill your fitness needs and goals.  The boot camp workouts change each day.  They consist of body weight circuits, strength training with dumbbells and resistance bands, speed and agility training, obstacle courses, kettle bell training and much more to keep your body and mind challenged at all times.  All exercises can be simply modified for any physical limitations.
